WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that everyone; regardless of their skin color, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or any other label, should be treated equally and loved completely by the Church, just as God loves them.

We believe that the Bible contains the Word of God, but that God is still speaking and moving today. "God has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." (2 Corinthians 3:6) We understand "the letter" was written by men who were not infallible, but were inspired by God. The Spirit of the scripture is still applicable today and is life changing.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that the sting of death is sin, but the power of sin is the law. Therefore it is in the love and grace of Christ that we find our victory over sin. We are not under the law; we are under grace.

(1 Corinthians 15:56, Romans 6:14)

We believe the Church should be active and aware of social issues. We are called to be the hands and feet of Christ and we should be true change agents in our community, not silent saints. We need to be about action and not just talk. (James 2:14-17)

We believe God reconciled the world to Himself in Christ. God has made peace with us, but we need to make peace with Him. (2 Corinthians 5:17-19)

We believe that Christ is the only one who holds all of the answers to the questions we ask as the Church. We can speculate and study, but ultimately it is only by the Spirit that we are lead into truth. (John 16:13) That is why, as Christians, we should be loving and respectful to those who hold other beliefs. Together, with the help of the Spirit, we will find truth. In the mean time, we can move forward in loving God, loving our neighbor, and learning to love ourselves. (Mark 12:28-31)
